My First Blogger's Event!

Hi everyone,

I’m so excited that this week’d blog is all about my first ever NI blogger’s event!πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I was invited to the launch of @SPAR_NI’s Pick Me Up Picnic campaign, hosted by Cathy Martin (@cathymartin10) and Conor Hogan (@thebelfastfoodblogger).

The campaign is to encourage shoppers to throw out their picnic blankets and host a (socially distanced) picnic with family & friends to raise money for charity partners Marie Curie and Cancer Fund for Children.

If you log on to this link, https://www.spar-ni.co.uk/pick-me-up-picnic,  and donate £3 (or more!) you’ll receive a picnic activity pack to throw your own!

I was so excited to be invited, alongside so many prominent NI bloggers and to be honest, I wasn’t sure if anyone even read this thing πŸ˜‚

My imposter’s syndrome was in FULL SWING as I’d seen Cathy’s previous blogger’s events and I always thought they looked so cool and always thought about how I’d love to go to one someday, and couldn’t get over the fact that this was the day!

I booked in with my mum (@stephanieburnshairandmakeup) to do my makeup and was buzzing to bust out my lil ARRI London dress and get myself all made up to go (fake tan disaster aside, if you follow me on insta, you’ll know. πŸ‹πŸ˜‚)

When I arrived it was the cutest little garden party/picnic ever (socially distanced of course) There was a beautiful belle tent teepee provided by @teepartiesni, garden games from @kingsandqueensgardengamehire, and was catered (with a @baristabarni coffee machine!) by @aroundnoon.

As this was my first event, I didn’t know anyone except for Katie Williams, who writes The Burning Wick (http://theburningwick.blogspot.com/), who I went to school with in Lisburn, so as soon as she arrived you can bet I clung to her for a good bit πŸ˜‚

I eventually got a bit braver and got chatting to @thelynneedit, @seainty, @itshollyking and @busy_mamai_blog. Everyone was so lovely and welcoming and I had an amazing time!

I was also lucky enough to be ✨πŸ’—#giftedπŸ’—✨ with a wee goodie bag of @irwinsbakery and @hovisbakery goods and snacks and got to bring my wee reusable Barista Bar coffee cup (no disposable cups were on site!) home! Check out my YouTube video (up at the top!) if ya wanna know what all I got in it! (also please like & subscribe thankuuuuuuuuuuuu)

It was such a lovely morning and I was so chuffed to be invited, everyone was so lovely and made me feel so at ease. I’d seriously encourage anyone to host their own Pick Me Up Picnic this August because as well as being a lovely morning, it’s a great way to raise some funds for two very worthy charities who have unfortunately had to cancel over 20 fundraising events due to Lockdown restrictions. πŸ’—πŸ™πŸ»
