The Face of Belfast Met

So, I was in my second year of my media course at Belfast Met, and Aidan Browne let me know that some promo stuff (using actual students) was being shot, and asked would I be up for being in it.

I’m a massive attention-seeker and have never been camera-shy in my life so I was well up for it , got up at 6am the day of to do my make-up to make sure I was camera-ready haha (I’m also super high-maintenance 😘)

It was shot on campus, in the Belfast Met studio in E3, by professional photographer Khara Pringle. It was fun, I went down, took some photos (with Khara’s direction, thank god πŸ˜…) signed some forms, and expected to see the pic in the corner of page 74 of the Met prospectus.

Yeah so that didn’t happen. I didn’t think much more about it until I started getting snapchats of my bake on billboards, bus shelters, and buses from all my friends πŸ˜‚

I was working for Stellify Media at the time, and it become an office meme for everyone to send a photo/video into the group chat every time they spotted a bus with me on it.

It was used as the main image for Belfast Met’s website, and all over the marketing for the open day they had coming up.

I’m also on the front cover of the prospectus (and a wall! The wall outside the E3 campus to be exact πŸ˜‚) My boyfriend used to have me saved as ‘The Face of Belfast Met’ on his phone because the poster was still on the bus shelters when we were first going out πŸ˜‚

Whilst the poster with me has been phased out (☹️), it was a really funny/weird time when it was at it’s peak, and it’s pretty fun to be able to joke about my career as an ‘ex-billboard model.’

And it’s a class anecdote for drinking games 🍸🍻🍹πŸ₯‚
